Standard grays are the most common type of sugar gliders. This is how they appear in the wild. They are characterized by a gray body and a dark gray to dark brown dorsal stripe and tail tip. They will have the same dark colored rings around their eyes, and a dark bar under their ears. They may or may not have dark knuckle bars on the front paws. Any pairing of sugar gliders can produce standard grays except for pairs in which both gliders are a specific recessive color (such as cremino). Recessive x recessive pairs will only produce their color. So a cremino x cremino pair will only produce creminos. However, all other pairs will produce standard grays periodically. So even though we do not have many gray breeding gliders, we will continue to produce gray gliders. Other names you may hear for these gliders are classic gray, gray or sometimes wild type.
