Mosaic and Ringtail

Mosaic--$600-$1500+

Mosaic gliders are probably the most unique and variable of all the gliders.  Mosaic gliders simply means that there is a patch of white that is breaking up the normal gray coloring.  This can be as simple as a tiny white dot on their shoulder or whitish paws.  It can also be as much as being almost completely white with maybe just a couple dark hairs or some shadowing as they grow.  Because mosaicism is so unique, you can get a wide variety of gliders.  Mosaicism is a dominant trait so only one parent needs to have it to pass it on.  Like black face, if offspring does not possess the color, they will not pass it on unless they are paired with a mosaic mate.  They either have it or they don’t. They do not carry genes for it if they aren’t visually mosaic.  Mosaic can be paired with many other colorings.  There are white face mosaics and black face mosaics.  You can also pair mosaics with recessive colors such as cremino, leucistic, carmino and platinum.  The mosaic would have to carry hets (or genes) for those recessive traits, but if they do, they can produce mosaic creminos, mosistic (mosaic leucistic), carmino mosaics and true platinum mosaics.  Because of the huge variable in mosaic gliders, there is the largest price range.  It is more random than some color pairings, so you never know what you are going to get.

Ringtail--$600-$1500+

Ringtail is a mosaic trait.  It can be as simple as a different colored tail tip or faint ring, or as bold as a white tail with thick black rings that give the glider the appearance of a racoon or lemur.  The rings can be black, gray or white. Technically any mosaic can produce ringtail gliders, but it is more likely to get bold ringtails from parents who have bold ringtails.
